Last night, this gayboy was made a man.

They say that DIY is what makes a man feel masculine.. I mentioned yesterday that a lot of furniture was due to be delivered to my house, and me and my boyfriend put it all together last night, and I actually found it quite enjoyable..! We <3 Ikea! :)

(Homo with a hammer)

It took us about 3 hours to make a chest of drawers and two bedside tables. Considering we had dinner & multiple cigarettes amongst all this, that really wasn't bad going for the two of us.

I think this should be my first blog where I talk about music, too. Once I can regain my abilities from the MySpace era with HTML and CSS, I'll start to make little widget things with the songs I'm talking about to go into the blog, but for now YouTube inserts will just have to do. Read on for more! :)

Let me start with Owl City. Most of you will probably remember his song 'Fireflies' from the album Ocean Eyes. I remember listening to that whole album on repeat when I was staying at my aunts apartment in Bulgaria ('Dental Care' is one of my faves!). Even now, every time I listen to it I'm reminded of all the memories from that holiday. Good & bad- although let's not go into that. Owl City hasn't really had a big hit since 'Fireflies', at least not here in the UK. So he's gone and collaborated with none other than Ms. Carly Rae Jepsen, which I think everybody can agree is a GREAT pairing. It's such a happy tune & I really think it'll be a big hit this summer.

My second pick is going to be Pink's (or is it P!nk now?) comeback single, 'Blow Me (One Last Kiss)'. I had heard a lot of buzz about the track before it came available, and being a fan of Pink it excited me just a little. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. I was initially a bit let down upon first listen, but it's an earworm & soon enough I found the chorus stuck in my head. I even found myself craving to tweet some of the lyrics, but had to restrain as my boyfriend would have kittens if he saw I was tweeting things like 'I think I've finally had enough, I think I maybe think too much. I think this might be it for us (blow me one last kiss)'. It's a grower, like most of Pink's songs & I expect it will do well. The album 'The Truth About Love' is due out in September. Which I cannot wait for!

My next, and final, pick is a gem buried away in an album. I expect this to be a single at some point, because it will be an absolute club smash, but there's no harm in enjoying it (& making up our own dance routines for it!) until it gets the single treatment. The song is called 'Sexy Den A Mutha' and is by England's sweetheart Cheryl (I think she's dropped the Cole from her name- which is fair enough really) from her third solo album 'A Million Lights'. I honestly think this song is more of a stand out track than her current (and next, actually) single, it's familiar but also different from the other stuff out right now. I keep requesting it at the club I work at, but none of the DJ's have heard of it yet & so don't have it in their libraries. Ugh. The day I hear this song drop in a club is the day that I will, quite literally, lose my shit. Some crazy dance moves will be thrown that evening. Anyway, here it is, I hope you like it as much as I do- It's my favourite song at the moment!

That's all for today, I hope you all have a great day! I'm dragging my sorry ass back to Reading to work in said club this weekend. Have a good one & don't do anything you'll regret! :p
