A kiki is a party for calming all your nerves

Before I begin, you all need to watch this.

(Scissor Sisters - Let's Have A Kiki. Phenomenal.)

Okay so I never got around to writing the follow up to my last post, where I promised I'd go into more detail about my weekend & what I thought of the new Batman movie. I suffered from a bad case of writers block this week, and after two or three drafts of that post, I thought it would be best to just scrap it and get on with  something else.

I will just say, however, that Batman: The Dark Knight Rises is an absolutely phenomenal movie and you will be missing out if you don't go to see it. It's about three hours long, but if you're like me two hours into the film you'll be wishing that it isn't almost over. It's full of twists and it really keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Pink's new video for her newst single Blow Me (One Last Kiss) came out yesterday, have a look after the break...

I was held hostage by a toilet attendant...

So where do I even begin?? I've had a crazy past week since my last post. Everything was relatively average until Thursday, when I went to Soho with friends from work. But first let me share this video with you.

(TOO CUTE!!)

Okay, so Thursday- I started the evening, behind schedule, of course, by drinking rum and coke (that was far too strong) on my own on a train to Waterloo. When I made it to Piccadilly Circus, eventually found Chris and Jess and was introduced to their friend Archie, we went to some bar in Soho to meet Archie's friends from uni. This bar did shots of Tequila for 99p, so we were all pretty drunk :). It was in this bar where my night-long problem with toilet attendants started...

Get, get, get! In line and settle down! (New No Doubt!!)

Oh my God!! I can't believe I didn't know this song was out so soon! I've been so excited about No Doubt's first album in 10 years since I read about it a month or so ago. This song is instantly catchy, so obviously No Doubt & yet totally fresh too. I am in love with Ms. Gwen Stefani's voice. I only knew this song was out today because a friend of mine posted it on Facebook & I just happened to check my feed at that point because I'd just got on a bus to the train station. Look after the break for the track!

Before I link the song, I'm going to have a little moan... What is it that takes trains so long? I'm currently sat on a train back to Reading to collect my stuff I had to leave on Friday (I'll explain later) and the journey takes just over an hour. It isn't even that far if you look at a map! Anyway, I hope you all had a fun weekend. Mine kept me busy enough, involving a 4hr stop off at Reading and an hour on a boat on the Thames. I won't bore you with all the details, but I do want to talk about little bits.

Last night, this gayboy was made a man.

They say that DIY is what makes a man feel masculine.. I mentioned yesterday that a lot of furniture was due to be delivered to my house, and me and my boyfriend put it all together last night, and I actually found it quite enjoyable..! We <3 Ikea! :)

(Homo with a hammer)

It took us about 3 hours to make a chest of drawers and two bedside tables. Considering we had dinner & multiple cigarettes amongst all this, that really wasn't bad going for the two of us.

I think this should be my first blog where I talk about music, too. Once I can regain my abilities from the MySpace era with HTML and CSS, I'll start to make little widget things with the songs I'm talking about to go into the blog, but for now YouTube inserts will just have to do. Read on for more! :)

What's up with Whatsapp?!

Now I know that it's silly, but I found myself a little bit lost yesterday after updating Whatsapp from the AppStore. Every time I tried to open the app, it would hang on a blank screen and crash after a couple of seconds. After a quick Google search and look at AppStore reviews, I realised I wasn't the only one with the problem. The only apparent solution was to delete & reinstall the app, which would mean I'd lose my entire chat history. Not really an option.. So I went a ~WHOLE ENTIRE DAY~ without using Whatsapp, and this morning when my boyfriend woke me up as he was getting ready for work, I had another look to see if I could find a solution, and I did!
(This is what the app looked like...)

When you open the app & it freezes, hold down the home button on your iPhone until voice control comes up (I understand this activates Siri on the 4S- I'm not sure if this will be a solution for those people) and then click cancel. Keep doing this until Whatsapp responds. I was met with a black screen after doing this so I pulled down the notification centre and it seemed to work. I had to re-verify my number & then close the app from the app switcher & reopen Whatsapp. From there it was all fine & now I'm able to reply to the insane amount of messages I received yesterday. (Cruelly, you could see your incoming messages as notifications, but couldn't open the app to read them in full/reply...). I'm just glad it's all working again aha.

Today we have a roommate moving in, and a hell of a lot of furniture arriving, so I suppose I'd best get out of bed!

Have a nice day everyone :)

Today I went to London Bridge

I've only seen The Shard from quite a far distance, a couple weeks ago at the start of June & it struck me then.
Yesterday I saw it right up close, I even stood under it to shelter from all of this god awful rain that we keep having. It is absolutely breathtaking.
I'm not a person who suffers from vertigo, but standing underneath it and looking up made me pretty dizzy.
After all this me and my friend Jess went to Nando's on the river, and it is probably one of the coolest Nando's restaurants I've ever been into. Actually, Borough Market is one of the coolest places I've seen in London since I moved here two weeks ago. It's so rustic & gives an idea of what old London must have felt like. Amazing.

Anyway I think I'm going to use this blog to share all of my latest musical finds (I listen to mostly mainstream stuff ^_^) as well as other things that may pop into my head. I'm not really sure how this website works just yet but hello! Let's see if I can keep this up :)
